The Nyadire Connection
At Novo Surgical, high-quality instrumentation may be our specialty, but it is not all that we do. We recently received a donation request from volunteers at The Nyadire Connection, and we are happy to provide them with the instruments they need to continue their life-saving work! Nyadire Cribs ResizedThe Nyadire Connection supports and sustains the Nyadire United Methodist Mission (NUMM) as it works to improve the lives of over 500,000 people in northeasten Zimbabwe. Originally founded in 1923 with only a hospital, their campus has grown to include a top-rated nursing school, an orphanage, and a 3,000 acre farm, all providing on-the-ground assistance to those who need it most. Most impressively, this mission continues to grow despite serious social and political pressures as well as resource constraints. The hospital serves six clinics that frequently treat common ailments like tuberculosis, malaria, pneumonia, malnutrition, and hypertension. HIV/AIDS is also common, especially in pregnant mothers, but the dedicated doctors and staff strive to end this health crisis by providing a range of primary and preventative health care services that address these maladies, including woman's health, malaria treatment, and an immunization outreach program. Our donation of surgical grade uterine and tissue forceps will be used in their 200-bed hospital, which sees over 150,000 patients a year. We hope that one day this donation saves a life in need, or perhaps, helps deliver a new one. Nyadire Expectant Mother Resized Novo Surgical is honored and humbled to assist the volunteers at The Nyadire Connection in Zimbabwe  in their mission to provide medical assistance to orphaned children, expectant mothers, and all those who seek life-saving health care. Continue the good work! If you would like to learn more about The Nyadire Connection, or how you can help, visit their webpage at http://www.nyadire.org/
